How it works

Export your internal links from a crawler (Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or a REST query) as source -> target pairs, paste them in, and the mapper builds the link graph and grades every page on four structural checks.

  • Orphan pages, zero inbound internal links. Crawlers and readers struggle to find them, so they rarely rank.
  • Dead-end pages, zero outbound internal links. They absorb link equity and pass none of it on.
  • Over-linked pages, far more inbound links than average. Usually fine for hubs, worth a sanity check otherwise.
  • High out-degree, pages that link out heavily, diluting the equity each link carries.

Switch between Balanced and Strict thresholds, then copy the whole analysis as a Markdown report. It never sends your URLs anywhere.

Why template links are excluded

A link in your site navigation appears on every page. In a raw inbound count it looks like eighty votes of confidence. It is one decision, made once, repeated by a template.

Counting those links the same as a link written inside a paragraph is what makes a link graph look healthy when it is not. The page with eighty inbound links and none from any body of text has no editorial support at all, and that is the most common reason a page sits there for a year without ranking.

So this tool identifies any target linked from more than a threshold share of pages, sets those aside, and reports the graph that remains. Everything below the template group, including the PageRank, is computed on editorial links only.

Any crawler exports it. In Screaming Frog, run a crawl and export Bulk Export > Links > All Inlinks, then reduce it to source and destination columns. You can also build it from a sitemap crawl or a REST query against your own site.
No. It only analyses the links you paste, entirely in your browser. Nothing is fetched and nothing is sent to a server, so you can analyse staging or client sites safely.
A page with zero inbound internal links in the data you pasted. If your export is incomplete, a page can look orphaned when it is not, so map from a full crawl, not a partial list.
The thresholds for over-linked and high out-degree scale with your site’s average. Strict lowers them, so it flags more aggressively, useful for tightly-optimised sites. Balanced is the sensible default for most.
